black rush/I came to/
facing the slight frame
of morning/mountain
country above me and
decidedly not mine/but
a distant wreath/full of
common birds/fretting
the subject/images to
mar the exchange rate
with/and that fortunate
magpie/still bickering/
hoarse with meaning/
gray tracks in opposite
directions/to chastise
diaspora with someone
else’s hands/could be
my nation/shaped by
rote acts/or one golden
interloper/gait tilting
north/and what of the
other half/wish you
would say more on
taming a distended
race/tail burning
blue/just words for
poems/or borrowed
kinder/ask again for
clean syllables/wake
up able/flutter once/
and rush back/
